Ferrellgas is adding a Security Analyst to our IT team. As a security Analyst, you will perform two core functions for the enterprise. The first is the day-to-day operations of the in-place security solutions while the second is the identification, investigation and resolution of security incidents detected by those systems. Secondary tasks may include involvement in the implementation of new security solutions, participation in the creation and or maintenance of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures as well as conducting vulnerability audits and assessments. The IT Security Analyst is expected to be fully aware of the enterprise's security goals as established by its stated policies, procedures and guidelines and to actively work towards upholding those goals.

Essential Functions:
  • Strategy & Planning
    • Participates in the creation of enterprise security documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures) under the direction of the VP of Tech Services & InfoSec.
  • Acquisition & Deployment
    • Maintains up-to-date detailed knowledge of IT security industry standards including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors.
    • Recommends additional security solutions or enhancements to existing security solutions to improve overall enterprise security.
    • Plans integration and initial configuration of all new security solutions and enhancements to existing security solutions in accordance with standard best operating procedures.
  • Operational Management
    • Maintains up-to-date baselines for the secure configuration and operations of all in-place devices.
    • Maintains operational configurations of all in-place security solutions as per the established baselines.
    • Monitor all in-place security solutions for efficient and appropriate reporting.
    • Reviews logs and reports of all in-place devices, whether they be under direct control. Interpret the implications of that activity and devise plans for appropriate resolution.
    • Participates in investigations into problematic activity.
    • Participates in the design and execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security audits.
    • Provides on-call support for end users for all in-place security solutions.
Experience:
  • College diploma or university degree in the field of network engineering and 2 years of work experience or 5+ years of equivalent work experience
  • One or more of the following certifications preferred:
    • CompTIA Security+
    • GIAC Information Security Fundamentals
    • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator: Security
    • Associate of (ISC) 2
  • Intuition and keen instincts to pre-empt attacks.
  • High level of analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to conduct research into security issues and products as required.
  • Strong understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Able to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Cybersecurity experience with either scanning/remediation tools and/or logging (SIEM) tools.
  • Familiarity with NEST
  • Knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard techniques and practices.
  • Knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems, including.
  • Working knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards, including Cisco Umbrella, LogRhythm, Nexpose, CyberArk, and Trend tools.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and network administration/protocols.
  • Knowledge of applicable practices and laws relating to data privacy and protection.
