Job Summary: The Safety Manager - Policy & Procedures position is the primary advisor to the Director of Safety - Ferrellgas on company safety policies and procedures. This position is responsible for maintaining safety policies and procedures and the collection of safety data to provide the information for safety compliance. This position will provide publications and communications to the company on all safety and regulatory compliance. This position typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and/or 5 or more year's related experience.
Essential Functions:
  • Ensures Company Safety operating policies and procedures are in compliance with applicable safety regulations.
  • Maintains the Safety and Technical Support section of the Ferrell Way including updates for NFPA 58 & 54, OSHA and other regulatory agencies (including BR and FNA).
  • Reviews and edits safety related forms, including forms kept on The Point and Data Source.
  • Reviews publications by other Ferrellgas functional departments to ensure they meat Ferrellgas and industry safety and technical standards. Includes Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Safety and Technical Handbook updates and reviews.
  • Ensures existing safety and technical publications (Flashnotes and Safety Bulletins) are issued and published on The Point.
  • Oversees Safety Programs and implementation to the Field.
    • Bobtail Rollover Awareness program.
    • Driver Appreciation program.
    • Safety Notifications for holidays and emergencies.
    • Service Center Checklist program.
    • Corporate Safety Audit program.
    • Ferrellmeter program.
  • Completes monthly safety publications for various departments.
  • Analyzes and reviews safety information to identify areas of focus (Safer).
  • Leads the corporate safety and technical Policy Procedures Review Committee (PPRC).
  • Maintains membership in the EAC.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • 5 or more year's related experience.
  • Ability to develop, communicate, and execute training plans that support safety and prevention improvements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and time management skills.
