SUMMARY:
Performs and supports preventive maintenance inspection (PMI); troubleshoots, repairs, and rebuilds major components on heavy trucks and associated equipment. Must be at least 21 years of age.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Supports diesel mechanic team
  • Conducts basic mechanic duties such as oil changes, tone ups etc…
  • Performs preventive maintenance inspections and ensures the timely and effective repair of any problems identified during an inspection.
  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles.
  • Performs maintenance related work as required.
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their manager, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
EDUCATION LEVEL:
A minimum of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Ability in operating tools equipment, parts and procedures utilized during the repair and servicing of vehicles and equipment, skill in repair of special purpose equipment, ability to effectively communicate verbal and written communication for needed repairs or tasks, ability to diagnose defects in and repair a variety of equipment and vehicles, ability to utilize fleet maintenance software program, and knowledge of Total Tire Maintenance Program may be required. Valid driver license and must have a clean driving record. Valid CDL (or the ability to obtain one within 90 days) and must have a clean driving record.
WORK CONDITIONS:
Repair/ Maintenance shop, out-of-doors environment and driver based environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, and tanks, rotating equipment, dust, dirty odors, loud noises, electrical shock, and working in confined spaces. Subject to all temperatures, weather, and varying road conditions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 30lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 50lbs, ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates, valid state driver's license and proof of insurance, perceiving color differences, ability to wear personal protective equipment, and strenuous physical activity.
