Job Summary: Under general direction, the Crude Logistics Scheduler will ensure uninterrupted, safe, and efficient crude oil distribution to designated locations across the United States by utilizing a fleet of owner operators, their drivers, and/or employees assigned to their specific geographic area. The incumbent will primarily be responsible for preparing and distributing daily route schedules for that area. This position typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field with one to two years of customer service experience.
The hours for this role will be 6:00PM-6:00AM, and it will be a rotating 3 days on/3 days off shift which includes working holidays and weekends.
Essential Functions:
  • Distributes crude oil within a designated region of the United States, utilizing a variety of assets including rail, truck, and pipelines.
  • Schedules and issues shipping instructions for the storage and movement of crude oil. Uses independent judgment and discretion to regulate and schedule deliveries.
  • Coordinates deliveries and communicates daily work schedules to assigned owner operators, drivers and/or employees.
  • Works to resolve any issues/complaints received from owner and customers. Communicated escalated issues to management for further resolution.
  • Forecasts shipping requirements and adjusts schedule to conform to production rates, storage levels, and demand patterns.
  • Provides a level of customer service that fosters customer satisfaction and positions the organization to grow and retain customers.
  • Develops and implements systems that reduce expenses and maximize the utilization of assets within the assigned geographical area.
  • Utilizes critical thinking skills to accommodate short-notice and urgent delivery requests, as well as to improve forecasting to decrease the occurrence of early and late deliveries.
  • Maintains timely and accurate records of all transactions.
  • Analyzes supply and demand reports and inventory forecasts.
  • Abides by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration rules and regulations as needed during scheduling processes.
  • Ensures that all Company safety policies and procedures are followed, as well as applicable laws and regulations. Takes appropriate actions to correct or report unsafe behaviors and safety concerns.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1 -2 years of customer service experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on team building and developing a positive rapport with company employees and customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to provide leadership when needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills in a customer-focused environment.
