Job Description

Ferrellgas is seeking a Credit Analyst who would be responsible for analyzing credit and financial risk assessment for companies and recommending appropriate credit exposure and terms, along with reporting. This position typically requires a bachelor's degree in related field and one to two years' experience. Experience in the oil/gas industry and experience in commodities trading or derivatives is preferred.
Essential Functions:
  • Compares liquidity, profitability, and credit evaluations of companies to determine credit risk and assign limits/terms.
  • Monitors counterparty activity as it pertains to credit of commodity/derivatives and hedging.
  • Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to credit data.
  • Conducts annual and periodic review of customer financials.
  • Reviews reports to monitor exposure and ensure sufficient credit limits are in place.
  • Performs general ledger adjustments within and between corporate divisions.
  • Monitors corporate guarantee agreements and obtains extensions or increases when necessary.
  • Monitors industry news and reports and initiates the appropriate actions based on current financial health of the customers.
  • Manages files and records of customer accounts.
  • Minimizes bad debt risk and maximizes accounts receivable collections.
  • Engages in consistent communication with employees within department, in the field, and other locations to facilitate exceptional customer service and efficiency at all times.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • One to two years related experience
  • Experience in the oil/gas industry preferred
  • Salesforce experience helpful
  • Experience in commodities trading or derivatives helpful
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to effectively multi-task.
