Job Summary:
The Content Specialist is responsible for generating fresh, creative and dynamic content that will be used in a variety of channels and delivered to various internal and external audiences. This position typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Journalism and 2 years related work experience.
Essential Functions:
  • Writes copy for the company's website, blog, social media channels, corporate Intranet, email campaigns, and various print advertisements.
  • Proofreads various company marketing initiatives for clarity, grammar, and spelling with a strong attention to detail and utilizing the grammar style and guidelines provided in the AP Stylebook.
  • Brainstorms, researches, and contributes creative ideas to editorial calendars for internal and external communications.
  • Works with Ferrellgas field partners to identify and promote events that further support the company's efforts to position itself as the best "local" propane company.
  • Utilizes various monitoring tools, reviews and provides timely responses to comments left by employees on Ferrellgas' corporate Intranet and left by customers on Ferrellgas' social media channels and in Google and Yelp reviews.
Experience:
  • High school diploma
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Journalism preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant work experience, ideally in a corporate or agency setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to take projects/tasks through to completion.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to successfully handle overlapping deadlines.
  • Ability to stay up-to-date on new social media and communication technologies and strategies.
  • Self-motivated, confident, energetic, and creative.
