Job Summary:
The Business Operations Analyst II will work under general supervision in analyzing the business to improve efficiencies, productivity levels, margins, customer net gains and other key points of operation. The analyst will also ensure company initiatives are successfully implemented. Typically requires Bachelor's degree in a related field and two to five years of financial/operational analysis.
Essential Functions:
  • Duties include the following: adhoc query development, researching, analyzing, reporting information from a variety of sources, and assisting the business with data understanding.
  • Through analysis, identifies opportunities to improve bottom line performance either through expense savings or through gross profit enhancement. Communicates such opportunities to field management.
  • Analyzes margin performance and identifies opportunities for improvement within pricing types, business segments and market locations.
  • Primary system expert for report creation, interpretation and liaison to field management.
  • Designs, reviews, maintains, and deploys business reports using analysis tools.
  • Reviews monthly financial reports and identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Conducts investigation into data anomalies, both proactively and as identified by users. Must have appropriate technical competency and knowledge of source systems and external data to solve.
  • Performs data mining to analyze key business issues.
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Two to five years of work-related experience in business analysis or business intelligence.
  • One to three years of experience with an enterprise reporting package preferably SSRS.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Demonstrated skills in critical thinking and problem solving in a customer-focused environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on communicating effectively with all levels of management.
  • Understanding of SQL a plus.
